Mediation Services
| Co-Mediation Practice.
Karin has mediated over 2,500 of disputes in a wide range of cases. Her mediation is currently expanding to include co-mediation with Joe Epstein in complex multi-party cases including catastrophic injury, probate, construction defect litigation.

| Commercial Disputes.
Karin has recently mediated many real estate disputes between buyers and sellers of property involving interpretation of the real estate purchase contract, changes to the contract and the wrongful lien statute. She has also mediated many disputes between general contractors, subcontractors and the buyers of real property. Karin also recently mediated several claims regarding purchase and sale of motor homes, including claims of defective construction and insufficient service on the vehicle warranties.

| Personal Injury
Karin has mediated many personal injury cases. Most recently, Karin mediated an accident involving five vehicles. Although the defendants did not agree on their apportionment of liability, the case was resolved using blind offers.

| Domestic
Karin has mediated complex and highly emotionally charged domestic disputes. Both parties are required to have attorneys present to enable the parties to have ongoing legal advice and to allow the parties to reach a final, signed agreement in mediation.

| Employment
Karin has mediated a variety of employment disputes involving employment discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful termination. She recently mediated an issue of wrongful termination in which the parties' face-to-face conversation changed the parties' understanding of the issues and facilitated resolution of the dispute.

| Probate
An increasing number of probate/guardianship/conservatorship matters are now mediated due to the district court rules requiring mediation in contested probate cases. Karin assisted the courts in creating the probate mediation program in Utah and has recently mediated many probate lawsuits involving motions to remove the personal representative and resolution of the assets in the estate.
Appellate Mediation
Karin has privately mediated appellate disputes. Her former role as Chief Appellate Mediator make her uniquely qualified to mediate appellate cases due to her understanding of the appellate process, the standard of appellate review, and the risks involved in appellate decisions.
